World Heritage Week 2017 celebrated by Archaeological Survey of India, Srinagar Circle
The World Heritage Week 2017 form 19th to 25th November has been celebrated
by the Archaeological Survey of India, Srinagar circle, Jammu at Devi Bhagwati
Temple, Manwal, District Udhampur, with the aim to involve the youth and local
public of the area through participation of local school & college students in
protection, preservation and propagation of our great heritage for which our country is
justly world famous.
The Chief Guest on this occasion was Shri Amit Sharma, KAS, Regional
Director, Survey and Land Records, Udhampur, Reasi who inaugrated the photo
exhibition on 19th November 2017 and Dr. Virendra Kumar, Assistant Archaeologist
brief the exhibits. The prizes were also distributed to the students who took part in the
cultural programmes and drawing competition.
Archaeological Survey of India, Srinagar Circle highlighted the importance of
world heritage and its conservation and preservation to safeguard the prestigious
heritages for future and made an appeal to all the people to make clean and hygienic
environment around the monuments/sites.
